I've wanted to make these for a while, but never seemed to have all of the ingredients on hand for some reason, until yesterday.
By the way, I realize I am totally slacking on my attempt to cook with PW. (See my previous post.) Especially since I am planning on starting a new healthy eating resolution come January to rid myself of those extra -- pounds. But anyway, I still plan on doing it, maybe just making healthier choices, if that's even possible considering PW loves her butter!
In any case, yesterday morning I finally made PW's French Breakfast Puffs. They came together very easily - a beginner could surely do this recipe. I ended up baking mine quite a bit longer, but I think that's more because of my ancient stove. We had them pretty much fresh from the dousing in butter and cinnamon sugar and the consensus is that we all really enjoyed them. They are a great change for breakfast... perfect with my cup of hot eggnog tea. (I can't drink coffee.) However, we all agreed, there was just too much sugar. Yes, even my 8-year-old thought there was too much. So... what I am planning to do is make them for Christmas morning with the family... but, I am going to make mini ones instead. Little bite-sized morsels that don't overwhelm you with the sugar. I think they'll be just as yummy and I look forward to sharing them with the rest of my family.
